Stitch from Stash - June Update

Month: June
Earned: $0.00
Spent: $0.00

Where I Stand for the Year: +$45.36

June has been a pretty good month for me overall.  I feel like I am finally starting to come out of my post foot injury/surgery funk.  While not completely back to normal my feet are improving, I even had my last post op appointment today with the Dr.  Unless the last bit of swelling doesn't go away in 6 months I'm off the hook from going back!  At least until I stumble and break a foot again ;)  I actually didn't spend anything, a first in quite some time.  I also didn't do any stitching. I did get some finishing work complete on previous stitchy finishes.  I also made some excellent progress on other projects in my creative que, it feels great to finally get some of things done!

Stitch from Stash - May Report

Month: May
Earned: $28.00
Spent: $37.14

Where I Stand for the Year: +$20.36

May seems to have disappeared in a fog of post surgery recovery.  Things are improving, just a bit more slowly than I would have chosen :)  I may even be able to sport actual shoes again by the end of this week - I can't even imagine what it will be like to wear matching shoes again!

I was able to complete several little projects, and my stash increase came mainly from floss.  I am just 2 skeins away from a complete DMC cotton collection! Now I have to complete that organization project I have brewing in the back of my mind.
Little Ornament for a sweet Niece

Unfinished Ornament to have on hand during the
upcoming holiday season, just 7 months away ;)

A cute little Lizzie Kate Santa, not sure how
I'll finish it yet.   I think it will be for me,
but maybe it's really a gift in the making!

An unfinished ornament for an adorable baby Nephew

Another unfinished ornament to have on hand.

A little decoration for my Imagination Studio.

Stitch from Stash - April Report

Month: April
Spent: -$39.00
Earned: $0

Where I Stand for the Year: +$4.50

My big plans of stitching up a storm during my surgery recovery fell quite short . . . I did some stitching just didn't finish anything.

The surgery went well, and progress is being made each day, but the recovery has just been a lot harder and painful than I anticipated.  Focusing has been challenging, but this is improving.  I still have a few days off from work so I'm hoping to get some stitching done still!

Stitch from Stash - March Report

Month: March
Spent: -$85.00
Earned: $0.00

Where I Stand for the Year: +$18.50

So . . . it turns out my foot didn't heal as wanted after all which means I will be having surgery in mid-April.  My response to the news was a bit of stash busting, obviously - ha ha! I need something to keep me busy during recovery right? ;)

I got a few new patterns and then mostly fabrics and fibers for Stash projects.

I did do quite a bit of stitching on my oldest WIPs (sorry no photos) but no actual finishes this month. Work basically exploded and I ended up spending lots of extra time at the office and then working on preparing my home for post recovery.

Due to the craziness at work I postponed surgery a couple weeks into April, also because our deductible restarts April 1 and I preferred to put the procedure towards a new one versus an expiring one.  The extra weeks will be/have been challenging but I think the wait will be worth it in the long run.  The company is also rolling out a brand new time off policy April 1st, which means my full two week recovery will be paid!! With our current system I'd accrued just enough to cover nearly a week of it.  This change will be a great blessing!  Also I've been approved to work from home too, so I plan to put in some part time hours during the second week, so I don't have complete chaos upon my return.  I also do not want them to start thinking they can survive without me! ;)

Stitch from Stash - February Report

Month: February
Spent: -$3.50
Earned: +$16

Where I Stand for the Year: +$78.50

I had a couple of Patriotic finishes this month courtesy of Lizzie Kate designs.  I also made some excellent progress on my two oldest WIPs (sorry no picture updates).

P.S. My foot appears to be healing and it looks like I will be able to avoid surgery.  Still this is turning into the most expensive clumsy moment of my life!

Stitch from Stash - January Report

Month: January
Spent: $0
Earned: $16

In simple terms January was rough, I quite happy it will nearly be over!  I refrained from any new stash but I did however get some stitching in :)

A little Lizzie Kate with a change in colorway to match my Imagination Studio scheme.

A Bent Creek pattern for a sweet little one.

And this happened.  Turns it wasn't really a sprain and is a bit broken.  Hopefully wearing this will help it heal and eliminate a need for surgery!  I even have to wear it to bed, that's the hardest part!

Stitch from Stash - December Report

I made through December without buying any stash! Unfortunately I also did no stitching.  Work has been super busy, overtime busy. Also, I am the pianist for my church choir and I didn't get the Christmas music until Thanksgiving, so many of my spare moments have been spent polishing those numbers as well as my piano solo for the program tomorrow at church.  I was able to squeeze in some Christmas cookie baking and decorating too!

I have some extra time off from work for the holidays and am hoping I can stitch with some of it.  I'm also Hopi g to paint my bathroom and maybe my bedroom too!
